I'm back at home and back to work. I'm feeling far better now. I still get a bit knackered at night some times but in general I think i've overcome the worst of the EB Virus or more commonly giggled to the tune of the Kissing Disease. Har har huh. It's not as grusome as wikipedia explains. The acute period is only three weeks max which i passed some time ago now. Hence why I am starting to feel normal again. The only thing not normal is just the liver inflammation. Hopefully it'll settle down in time for christmas drinks huh?
The doctors explain there are many ways to be infected. In the emergency department of the hospital the attention was put on the fact i have tattoos. I also had a lot of blood samples done throughout the year for my blood pressure as well. Whichever way I got it, as the Professor in the Infectious Disease department told me, its something you wish you get as a child so the affects aren't as serious.
I had Atrial Fibrilations in hospital where the cardiology team decided to reset my heart. This requires being ZZAPed through Cardioversion. Hopefully in to a rhythm that they're happy with. I woke in my hospital bed with horrible oxygen hoses shoved up my nose and I was kicking with a regular beat again.
This is part of my lengthy stay in hospital. I was a rare textbook case for them with all of the symptoms i had. They kept me in for observation, as one GP Registrar said " We've only ever read about cases like you in books, we'd like to keep you here for a few more days " .... great I'm a guinea pig. More later..
So back to work and back to being normal again. And no, I'm not infectious so there!
