There can be so much politics involved in the cartoon and comics industry that it gets a little overwhelming and depressing. Artists' egos take on fever like proportions and they start arguments with one another about absolutely everything possible that comes to mind. It's hard because working alone means you have nowhere to release the pentup tention that builds not knowing where the industry is heading. The publishing industry itself gives us grief as it feels it is being raped by the internet and ease of electronic publishing. Point taken but you'd think they would make a selling point of their publication to say "see the cartoons here only, never on the internet!". Maybe they are too busy themselves to consider where the future of print media lies. One thing is for sure, cartoonists will be around forever. Just in different ways.
Speaking of the internet and how lies can spread, check out this letter fromMarvel EditorJoe Quesada. I like his comments on the nature of the internet.
